Oakland, Calif. — Samuel Merritt College celebrated Jan. 15 the official grand opening of its newly renovated San Mateo Learning Center, where more than three-dozen students in the accelerated 12-month Bachelor of Science in nursing program began classes in October.
The 12,000 square-foot facility, which was funded by grants from the East Bay Community Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, and Betty Irene Moore Nursing Initiative, has two classrooms, a 12-bed skills lab, 10 private faculty offices, a computer lab/library, a conference room, and a break room.
Samuel Merritt has three other learning centers in Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento.
