Marilee Tolen, RN, HN-BC, has launched her natural health radio show called "Green Tea with Marilee" to the Internet.

The show is designed for anyone interested in natural health care, alternative/integrative medicine, holistic nutrition, and healing modalities. The theme for the first month will focus on nursing and the contribution of Florence Nightingale to natural healing.

"Florence Nightingale taught us to 'put the patient in the best place for nature to act upon them,' " Tolen says. "Florence's teachings are reemerging, and we are learning that her common-sense healing principles have sound scientific rationale."

The kickoff show included an interview with holistic nursing icon Barbara Dossey, RN, PhD, AHN-BC, FAAN. Dossey shares some holistic nursing principles and ties them to scientific evidence. Tolen, who has a background in intensive care nursing and is certified in holistic nursing, also discusses her personal experiences with the failing health and death of both of her parents, and how she, as a nurse, dealt with that life change.

The "Green Tea with Marilee" Show airs at 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays at www.GreenTeaWith Marilee.com. Questions can be phoned in to (214) 615-6505, ext. 2510.
