Porter Adventist Hospital Receives Magnet Status
Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver achieved Magnet designation for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program. Porter is the first hospital in the Centura Health system to achieve this national status.
“The Magnet recognition is a tremendous accomplishment for Porter and a testament to the excellent work our nurses do each day,” Sharon Pappas, RN, PhD, chief nursing officer at Porter, said in a news release. “We are proud to acknowledge our entire nursing staff, and it reflects their commitment to serve as a team, providing the highest quality care possible for the people of our community.”
The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing practice and adherence to national standards for the organization and delivery of nursing services. Applicants undergo a rigorous evaluation that includes extensive interviews and review of nursing services.
