Burton Creates Vision For Providence Health & Services
Deborah Burton, RN, PhD, CNAA, was named vice president and chief nursing officer of Providence Health & Services in Washington.
Burton, who has been with Providence since 2004, is the first CNO for Providence’s System Office and will be based in Renton, Wash.
The timing of the role of a system-level CNO is important, given the heavy workload of reforming healthcare in the midst of what is a nationwide nursing shortage,” Burton said in a news release. “Providence nurses will be a critical part of making sure healthcare reform is implemented while keeping patient care top of mind.”
