Ana President Visits Bayhealth Nurses

American Nurses Association President Rebecca M. Patton, RN, MSN, CNOR, stressed education for nurses in a visit April 30 with RNs at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del.

Patton commended Bayhealth for increasing its number of certified nurses by 70% over a one-year period and noted “with an increase in certification, you will see a difference in patient outcomes.”

Patton also urged all nurses to get involved in a professional organization in order for their voices to be heard by the federal government.

Bayhealth nurses talked with Patton about projects and programs they have implemented to enhance patient care, and discussed shared governance councils and research projects.
