Arizona Health Sciences Center Salutes Rns

Nine nurses from the Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson were among this year’s crop of “Fabulous 50” Tucson nurses honored during National Nurses Week.

The nurses were chosen from among more than 200 nominees for their role modeling and mentoring of others, concern for humanity, contributions to the community, and significant contributions to nursing.

Among this year’s honorees are AHSC nurses Marianne Ayers, RN; Brady Burleson, RN; Crystal Clark, RN; Kathryn Grabenbauer, RN; Christine Pasquet, RN; Michael Teschner, RN; Candace Urrea-Garza, RN; Virginia Phillips, RN; and Judy Doan, RN.

The winners were honored May 9 during a dinner-dance at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa.

The event is the city’s capstone celebration to National Nurses Week and is sponsored by the Tucson Nurses Week Foundation.

Also, University Medical Center invited the public to donate canned food in honor of their favorite nurse.

Collected food was distributed to the Tucson Community Food Bank.
