The demand for RN coders varies in different parts of the country. Do some informational interviewing (www.dcardillo.com/articles/thescoop.html) with other RN coders in your state or general geographic area. Find them through the American Academy of Professional Coders www.aapc.com. When there’s something you want to do or learn more about, it makes sense to start rubbing elbows with those already successfully doing that thing.
