Gnynsone Reception Honors Organization Presidents

QUEENS, N.Y. — On June 2, New York area nurse leaders met at the Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadow Park, N.Y., for the Greater New York Nassau/Suffolk Organization of Nurse Executives annual President’s Reception and Dinner with this year’s president, Mary Anne Gallagher, RNC, MA, clinical director of nursing at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y.

With the string sounds of the Porcaro Sisters’ violins in the background, guests networked and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. During dinner this year’s special guest speaker, 2009 New York Organization of Nurse Executives President Joan Cusack-McGuirk, RN, BSN, MA, NEA-BC, vice president and chief nursing officer at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y., shared her thoughts with the audience on “Leadership at Its Best!”

Both presidents were thanked for their many contributions and dedication to NYONE at the state and local levels and were presented with bouquets of appreciation by Rosemary Sullivan, RN, MA, GNYNSONE president-elect and director of nursing special programs at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

GNYNSONE is one of the state chapters of NYONE, whose mission is to be the “Integrated Voice for Nursing Leaders Who Shape the Future of Healthcare.”
