Question:

I am thinking about taking a massage therapy course It or a

holistic medicine. both are a ten to twelve month course. My question is are

there positions for RN's with MT certifications or holistic medicine

training? And do you know of classes for specifically nurses?

Catherine

Answer:

The whole field of holistic health and wellness is growing. Massage

therapy, particularly, is hot, hot, hot. Nurses are working in massage

therapy in private practice, working for spa's and health clubs and

holistic wellness centers, working as consultants to physicians/nurse

practitioners and health care facilities, etc.

Some community colleges offer massage therapy courses especially for

nurses. Contact the adult or community education division of some

community colleges in your area (especially those that focus on

healthcare and nursing as many do) and see what they have to offer.

Good Luck!
