Question:

What is the best thing to do with old nursing journals and magazines? Is there a training course for utilization review nursing?

Nel

Answer:

Dear Nel,

If you're like me, you save every magazine you get "just in case" you need to

refer to them. But they collect dust, are a haven for insects and mold, and create clutter. I would advise you to just toss them. Besides, with the Internet today, you can access many journal articles online if you ever need them.

For utilization review education, check out Interqual at

in California http://www.miraflor.com/cet_ur.htm" target="_top" onmouseover="window.status='Nursing Spectrum- Career Fitness Online'; return true">http://www.miraflor.com/cet_ur.htm that offers basic courses. And talk to any utilization review nurses in your area about other local seminars.

Good luck!
