NEW YORK CITY — Whether in Philadelphia, Chicago, or Dallas, Nursing Spectrum/NurseWeek continuing education conferences are well-attended. A recent event at Rockefeller University in New York City, however, broke attendance records. More than 139 nurses attended the IV venipuncture certification program July 8, making it the most attended CE event of its kind in the history of Nursing Spectrum’s CE division.

Provided by Perivascular Nurse Consultants Inc., the full-day program provided eight contact hours. The companion course on July 9, central venous catheter certification, offered six contact hours.

The IV venipuncture certification course is one of the infusion therapy opportunities that Nursing Spectrum CE offers.

Inga Melnikov, a medical doctor in Russia, is enrolled in an MD-to-RN program in the U.S. She is working as an OR tech until she takes the nursing boards in October. “I took the phlebotomy with Nursing Spectrum back in June, and now I’m here for the IV course,” she says. “The classes are great.”

The program is part of a number of infusion therapy opportunities offered by Nursing Spectrum Continuing Education. For information on upcoming programs visit, http://events.nursingspectrum.com.
