Question:
Dear Donna,
I am a 40-year-old Filipino who is working in Singapore. By profession, I am a licensed Nutritionist/Dietitian. In 2009, I finished my second course for my BSN, but did not pass the nursing board exam in the Philippines. I would like to use a student visa for Australia. I heard there is a three-month nursing course I can take, which would qualify me to take the Australian nursing board exam, so I can practice there. Do you have any information about this program, as I am very interested?

Dear Donna replies:
Dear Australia-bound,
Australia does offer a three-month course for nurses educated outside of that country to help acclimate the nurse to practice in that country and become eligible for licensure. You'll find further information here: http://www.aicaeducation.com/Nursing/. Scroll down to "Initial Registration Course for Overseas Nurses (IRCON)." Contact them directly to see if you are eligible.
Best wishes,
Donna
