Inspira Health Network in Mullica, Hill, N.J., has been recognized with the 2014 Most Wired Health System Award for implementing new technologies aimed at connecting providers with patients and improving patient care, according to a news release.

“As the nation’s healthcare system transitions to more integrated and patient-centered care, it is vital for hospitals to implement technologies that better connect providers with patients,” Tom Pacek, vice president and chief information officer for Inspira Health Network, said in the release. “Inspira has done tremendous work to enhance our IT systems in ways that support care and delivery improvement, as well as patient engagement goals and I am extremely proud that our network has been recognized as a leader in IT.”

Over the past six years, the southern New Jersey-based health network has made a significant investment in information technology. Inspira reports several of the network’s accomplishments are direct outcomes of its IT initiatives and are aimed at improving quality of care and patient safety while reducing the costs of healthcare at Inspira, according to the release.
