Question:

Dear Donna,

I would like to get certification in primary/ambulatory care. I contacted the California Registered Board of Nursing and asked what I needed to get certified. They never responded, so I do not know how to proceed with this. Do you know how or what I need to get my certification?

Deborah

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Deborah,

Go to American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Web site (http://www.nursecredentialing.org/Certification.aspx) for a listing of certifications and requirements. Click on the link for Ambulatory Care Nurse or any others that pertain.

And presuming ambulatory care is your specialty, be sure to join and get active in the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (http://www.aaacn.org) if not already a member.

Good luck!
Donna
