Researchers from Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta have discovered what they are calling an alarming increase in ear, nose, and throat infections among children caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. From 2001 to 2006, researchers found 21,009 head and neck infections. Over that time, the percentage caused by MRSA bacteria increased from 12% to 28%.

The results of the study appear in the January issue of the journal Archives of Otolaryngology.
