Walgreens’ Take Care Health Systems is offering free healthcare to the unemployed through the end of the year in a promotion the company dubbed “Take Care Recovery Plan.” Patients who suffer a job loss on or after March 31 and have no health insurance are eligible to receive care at the company’s 341 in-store clinics in 19 states.
Qualifying individuals’ dependents, including a spouse, same-sex domestic partner, and minor children, are also covered by the offer as long as they do not have health insurance benefits.
Under the plan, patients can access these services anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Health evaluations, vaccinations, physicals, and injection or infusion administration are excluded from the offer.
The Take Care Clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who treat common maladies, such as minor respiratory illnesses, infections, and skin conditions. Services are generally priced at $59 and up. For more information, call 866-825-3227.
