The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued updated guidelines for the prevention and treatment of HIV-associated opportunistic infections. The CDC said the incidence of these infections has declined dramatically because of the advent of simpler, more potent, and less toxic antiretroviral therapy.
