U.S. Army Honors Michigan Nurse: A nurse at Community Health Center of Branch County, Coldwater, Mich., has been honored for her military service.

Reginna Campbell, RN, BSN, surgical pediatric nursing director, has received the Army Achievement Medal from the U.S. Army.

Campbell received the honor for outstanding performance as a Camp Rapid (S.D.) Combat Life Saver Officer in Command during an annual training session, according to a report in the Battle Creek Enquirer newspaper.

Campbell, who has been a nurse at CHCBC since 1984, has served in the Army Reserves since 1991. She also served in Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 and 2004.

“The Army, our country, and CHC are very lucky to have such a fine nurse in our ranks,” said Randy DeGroot, CHC president and CEO.

The award honored Campbell for her professional knowledge, sound judgment, and dedicated service that contributed directly to the successful mission accomplishment.

Cleveland Clinic: In an effort to streamline nursing practice across the health system, a new nursing leadership position has been created. Sarah Sinclair, RN, MBA, a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience, has been appointed as executive chief nursing officer.

Sinclair will be responsible for spearheading efforts to establish evidence-based standards of care across the system, creating a work environment that enhances professional practice and providing opportunities for nursing staff and leaders to optimize their career growth.

Sinclair also has advanced to Fellow status with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Fellowship is attained through multiple requirements, including a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits, and demonstrating professional/community involvement.

Debra Albert, RN, MSN, who had served as interim CNO at Main Campus since last summer, has been named CNO, Main Campus, and chair of the Nursing Institute on Main Campus.

St. Joseph Health Center, Warren, Ohio: Elisabeth Novakovich, RN, has been appointed nurse manager of the emergency department.
