“What matters most about this recognition is that the kids win again,” said Cheryl Hoying, RN, PhD, senior vice president, patient services, in a news release. “Outstanding care provided by highly skilled and caring staff — that’s what we’re all about and what Magnet recognizes.”
The facility is among only 6% of U.S. hospitals that have earned the Magnet honor.
While seeking Magnet status, Cincinnati Children’s made many improvements, including —
Establishing a pressure ulcer prevention team and attaining a pressure ulcer incident rate at or below the national average.
Further increasing transparency.
Increasing employee satisfaction.
Developing and implementing a consistent nurse practice model of care for all care settings.
