Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center has been honored with Magnet status for its excellence in nursing services from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

“What matters most about this recognition is that the kids win again,” said Cheryl Hoying, RN, PhD, senior vice president, patient services, in a news release. “Outstanding care provided by highly skilled and caring staff — that’s what we’re all about and what Magnet recognizes.”

The facility is among only 6% of U.S. hospitals that have earned the Magnet honor.

While seeking Magnet status, Cincinnati Children’s made many improvements, including —

Establishing a pressure ulcer prevention team and attaining a pressure ulcer incident rate at or below the national average.
