The White House, along with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have unveiled a program to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Act Against AIDS program is a five-year national communication campaign that will feature public service announcements and targeted messages and outreach to populations that are most affected by HIV/AIDS.
The first phase of the program involves a series of audio, video, print, and online materials to increase awareness about the severity of the HIV/AIDS crisis.
