VITAS Innovative Hospice Care has opened a satellite office in Titusville to better serve patients and families in northern Brevard County. The satellite office serves as a workstation and offers clerical support to a VITAS interdisciplinary patient care team, including a physician, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. These hospice experts provide medical care and social and emotional support to VITAS patients and their families in Scottsmore, Mims, Titusville, Port St. John and Cocoa.

“As more people are realizing they have a choice about end-of-life care, there is an increasing demand for our services,” Kathy LaPorte, BSN, CHPN, general manager of VITAS’ Brevard program, said in a news release. “With our Titusville-based patient care team visiting patients and their families in their homes, and at nursing homes and assisted living communities in north Brevard, we have an even greater ability to provide the care and support that help patients live their lives in dignity and comfort.”
