Dubbed “Nurses’ Choice,” the survey is part of a joint effort between the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and the Monmouth University Polling Institute, with cooperation from the Institute for Nursing.
According to a news release, nurses taking the survey are asked to make their physician selections and describe how they know the doctor’s work in the specialty.
“We believe that the data provided by nurses on the best doctors will provide New Jersey healthcare consumers with a new and trusted source for the best practicing physicians,” said Andrea Aughenbaugh, RN, CEO of the New Jersey State Nurses Association. “Quite frankly, we were surprised when we learned that nurses have never been asked for their opinions on this very important healthcare issue before.”
The selections are weighted on a 1 to 3 scale with 3 weighted more heavily, the news release states.
Nurses have until July 31 to fill out the survey, which can be found at www.nurseschoicenj.org.
The survey also is available through the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute’s Web site at www.njhcqi.org and the New Jersey State Nurses Association Web site at www.njsna.org.
Results will be published later this year or early next year in New Jersey Monthly magazine.
