The Denver Health Staff Nurse Council recently collected more than 1,800 scrubs during a recycling drive and delivered them to Medical Missionaries Inc.

The scrubs were no longer needed as result of a newly implemented dress code for providers who have direct contact with patients. The new dress-code policy makes it easier for Denver Health patients to know which group of professionals an employee represents during patient interactions.

Medical Missionaries is a nonprofit that collects goods from community organizations, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, businesses, churches, other nonprofit organizations and individuals, and sends them to impoverished areas including Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Latin America/Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
