The four-year program is designed to help offset existing nursing and physician shortages. It is offered online, with students completing clinical courses in their local area. Students participating in the DNP program can elect to specialize in one of three career tracks, including adult nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, or adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
The DNP program is offered separately to RNs who have already earned a BSN, as well as certified nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists or registered nurse anesthetists who have previously earned an MSN. For more information, visit www.umflint.edu/majors/nursing.htm.
