Fort Collins, Colo.-based Poudre Valley Health System recently was presented with a 2008 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Poudre Valley is the only healthcare organization chosen of the three recipients of the 2008 award. Rulon Stacey, PVHS president and CEO, said the award will honor the accomplishments of the 4,300 employees, 600 physicians and 900 volunteers who provide services at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins, Colo.; Medical Center of the Rockies, Loveland, Colo.; and other medical facilities throughout northern Colorado.
“While health care reform is so high on the national agenda, PVHS has demonstrated an effective and sustainable approach for providing high-quality, low-cost health care,” Stacey said. “The Baldrige award is a confirmation for our patients and community that we are truly dedicated to providing world-class healthcare.”
