With a vision to start a chapter in the New England area, Julie Dickinson, RN, BSN, MBA, president, and Tammey Dickerson, RNC-OB, BSN, president-elect, founded the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.

The chapter is a group of nursing professionals with the goal of increasing awareness of the value that legal nurse consultants bring to healthcare. The newly elected board members have been preparing for activities such as educational speakers, up-to-date legal nurse consulting information and networking opportunities. Legal nurse consultants, attorneys and small business specialists will present in 2010.

The chapter meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn. For information, e-mail ctchapter@gmail.com.
