The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses named board member Karen Stutzer-Treimel, RN, MSN, APN-C, CCRN, treasurer for 2010-11. Stutzer-Treimel is the executive director of nursing practice and critical care services at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, N.J.
Trinitas School of Nursing’s faculty in Elizabeth, N.J., recently attended Drexel University’s Nursing Education Institute Conference. At the conference Janine Graf-Kirk, RN, MA, BC, CNE; Karen Joho, RN, MS, BC, CNE; Anne Ormsby, RNC, MSN, CNE; and Melanie Whiting, RN, MS, BC, CNE, presented the poster “Embracing the Future: Investing in a Culture of Civility.” Joho, Ormsby and Whiting also delivered the presentation “Using High Fidelity Simulation to Teach Palliative and End-of-Life Care.” Rosemary Byrne, RN, MS, BC, CNE; Virginia Villanueva, RN, MEd, APN, C, CNE; and Patricia Castaldi, RN, DNP, director of Union County College’s Practical Nursing Program in Cranford, N.J., presented the poster “Development of an Evidence-Based Retention Mode.”
