On Aug. 26, the St. Tammany Hospital (Covington, La.) Guild awarded its Lowell McCormick professional education scholarship to St. Tammany Parish Hospital employee Nicholas Giordano. Giordano is earning a nursing degree from the Delgado Community College Charity School of Nursing. He works in the hospital’s central transport department. The Lowell McCormick scholarship is made possible by donations in memory of Lowell McCormick, whose widow, Betty, is a guild member, according to a news release.
The scholarship supports the hospital’s leadership role in assisting employees to further their education, training and careers at STPH. Employees are able to grow professionally and move up the career ladder while still working at the hospital.
