A new campaign by the Washington Center for Nursing aims to ensure Washington’s nursing shortage remains a top issue for policy makers and key stakeholders. The campaign is dubbed: “Inspiration. Information. Action.”
“We need to make sure the nursing shortage issue doesn’t get put on the back burner,” said Linda Tieman, RN, MN, FACHE, executive director.
With an aging population, aging caregiver workforce, and 300,000 additional residents who will become eligible for care under healthcare reform, Washington’s nursing shortage is expected to quickly worsen, according to Tieman.
