Most Wired list celebrates local facilities for being tech-savvy

Eight tech-savvy healthcare facilities from the Greater Chicago region were part of the 2011 Most Wired List released in July by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.

The 154 facilities from around the nation were recognized for "applying technology in new and innovative ways, and finding creative solutions that help serve their patients [and] staff and communities," according to hhnmostwired.com.

The local winners were Advocate Health Care, Oak Brook, Ill.; Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Schaumburg, Ill.; Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago; Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Ill.; NorthShore University Health System, Evanston, Ill.; Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago; Rush University Medical Center, Chicago; and University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.

Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, Ill., was among 25 hospitals to be chosen for the 2011 Most Improved List.
