Banner Health Cardon honored for achievements in interactive patient care

Banner Health Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz., received a Quality and Safety award during GetWellNetwork's third annual Interactive Patient Care Awards.

The awards are given to healthcare facilities for their achievements in IPC initiatives that resulted in better patient outcomes and facility performance improvements.

Banner was noted for its outstanding accomplishments in improving the quality of care for its asthma patients. After the engagement of patients and families in the GetWellNetwork Asthma Care Plan, readmission rates at Cardon Children's decreased by 60% and compliance with the pediatric care measure for the Asthma Home Management Plan of Care increased from 30% to 74%.
