As the executive director of Visiting Nurse Association of Saint Clare’s, only one word comes to mind when pondering the words “culture of excellence” — indomitable.
Nurses’ tremendous capacity for caring is profoundly evident in the care we see provided daily at the VNA.
They often care for our most vulnerable patients. Some are alone in rural areas unable to care for themselves because of chronic illness. Home healthcare nurses provide care in challenging conditions, such as snowstorms and hurricanes, because they may be the patient’s only lifeline. Again, I pause and think “indomitable spirit.”
We would like to celebrate all nurses along the continuum of care with special gratitude to our VNA nurses for the compassionate care they provide and for rising to every challenge undefeated as they continue to strive for excellence.
