Chamberlain College of Nursing has announced the appointment of Susan King, RN, MSN, MBA, as president of its Chicago campus.

King has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including practice, executive management and instruction. She will oversee implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services, growth and development of regional clinical partnerships and management of the day-to-day operations.

King succeeds Patrick Robinson, RN, MSN, PhD, ACRN, who served as the Chicago campus president since its opening in 2010. Robinson is joining Chamberlain’s national academics team, assuming the position of dean of undergraduate curriculum and instruction. In his new role, Robinson will be responsible for the baccalaureate and associate degree curricula and will be working with Richard Cowling, RN, PhD, APRN-BC, AHN-BC, FAAN, vice president of academic affairs, on Chamberlain’s undergraduate academic programs.

"The range of talents from both Susan and Patrick exemplify Chamberlain’s strong leadership," said Susan Groenwald, MSN, PhD(c), national president of Chamberlain College of Nursing. "As president of Chamberlain’s Chicago campus, Susan will be an exceptional leader and mentor for the faculty, staff and students, and Patrick’s extensive healthcare and education expertise, as well as his deep understanding of the Chamberlain undergraduate curricula, make him an excellent choice to join the national academics team."

King previously served as dean of academic operations at Chamberlain’s Addison, Ill., campus. Her tenure in nursing includes overseeing an international clinical trial with Cornell University and delivering the keynote address at the International Early Lung Cancer Action Program Conference in 2006.
