Continuum Health Partners has announced the promotion of Mary Walsh, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, CEN, to corporate senior vice president for nursing quality, standards and practice.

Walsh served as corporate vice president for nursing quality, standards and practice since 2008. In addition, she will continue to serve in her role as vice president and CNO at Beth Israel Medical Center.

"Mary provides system-wide oversight for nursing quality improvement and facilitates nursing professional practice initiatives to ensure the optimal level of performance at each of our hospitals," Gail F. Donovan, executive vice president and COO, said in a news release. "Having her in this position ensures that nursing has appropriate input in all operating and strategic planning, particularly as it relates to clinical nursing practice and its impact on outcomes and quality."

Walsh joined Beth Israel in 1995 as director of ambulatory nursing, Phillips Ambulatory Care Center. She has MSN and BSN degrees from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing and was elected to the Hunter College Hall of Fame in 2008.
