I am an LVN at a major healthcare provider and am in an LVN-to-RN track set to finish early 2013. The Sept. 10 article “Jobs outlook” (www.Nurse.com/Article/JobsOutlook) was informative for new grad RNs, but one factor wasn’t discussed.

It’s been said that nurses tend to eat their young and I see this invisible, seemingly harmless, hostile attitude in the field.

I believe this plays a critical role in the success of new grads and the future of the nursing profession. Hospitals should be urged to invest in training the next generation of nurses.
