BRONX — Nurses from Montefiore Medical Center were among those who participated Dec. 3 in a nationwide video project in support of The American Nurse book, which features a depiction of nursing across the country.

Joined by the project’s photographer/interviewer, the nurses signed copies of the book for colleagues and friends.

Photographer/interviewer Carolyn Jones explained the project to attendees in a short presentation. Rhonda Collins, RN, MSN, who commissioned the book, then presented a copy to Joan O’Brien, RN, MSN, Montefiore’s director of nursing, "so that there would always be a copy at [Montefiore]," Collins said.

Photos by Tracey Boyd Publisher Rhonda Collins, RN, expressed her appreciation to Montefiore’s Joan O’Brien at the book signing.
O’Brien was among the 12 Montefiore nurses who were interviewed for the project. The book features 75 portraits and interviews with nurses from across the country.
