Beckerís names area hospitals with great oncology programs

Beckerís Hospital Review has named "100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs."

According to a news release, the hospitals named on the list are on the cutting edge of cancer treatment, prevention and research, and the Beckerís Hospital Review editorial team selected them based on clinical accolades, quality care and contributions to the field of oncology.

According to the release, each organization has demonstrated a focus on patient-centered cancer care and emphasis on continual innovation in treatments and services.

Many of these organizations also have a place in the history of cancer prevention and research, as theyíve driven groundbreaking discoveries and made clinical milestones. Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.; Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Md.; Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore; Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.; Sinai Hospital in Baltimore; and the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore were named to the list.
