Telecare is partnering with Christus Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio to manage the new Christus Santa Rosa Senior Behavioral Health Center at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center. Scheduled to open this summer, the center will provide short-term inpatient services for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The center will serve individuals age 65 and older with a primary psychiatric illness.

The center will provide 7-14 days of inpatient services in tandem with other medical center services to ensure that patientsí mental and physical health needs are addressed cohesively. The advanced psychiatric and associated medical care is based on a combination of individual, group and family therapy settings, and includes occupational therapy and education. The Senior Behavioral Health Center will complement other senior services already offered at the Medical Center facility, such as the Christus Santa Rosa Acute Center for Elderly Program.

"Our unified goal is to be the healthcare provider of choice for seniors with mental health needs in the San Antonio and Texas Hill Country," Jerry Rodriguez, vice president/administrator, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center, said in the release. "This new program fills an important need in our community. With its deep experience in meeting the needs of psychiatric patients and our shared organizational values, we are pleased to welcome Telecare as part of our superb healthcare team as we continue to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ."
