Question:

Dear Donna,

I am a licensed Mother/Baby RN and would like to take the exam to become board certified. I am looking for a refresher course to help me prepare for the exam. Could you recommend a class in the central New Jersey area?

Mother/Baby RN

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Mother/Baby RN,

I checked with N.J. representatives of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (www.NANN.org) and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (www.AWHONN.org). Neither has or knows of any refresher course coming up in N.J. — they may schedule something in the fall, so check back with them then.

There are some private companies that periodically offer these courses in various locations. Do an Internet search for "Maternal-Newborn Certification review in NJ." Also check with the entity offering the certification exam, they may have other resources for you.

Best wishes,
Donna
