Abington (Pa.) Health has named Terry Reilly, RN, DNP, as senior vice president for patient services and CNO.

Reilly, of Towamencin Township, Pa., joined Abington Memorial Hospital in 1998 as a nurse manager. She more recently served as nurse director of critical care and medical services. In September 2012, she assumed the role of interim CNO.

"During her 15 years of service to AMH, Terry has earned the respect of her peers and leadership," Laurence Merlis, president and CEO, said in the release. "She is a person of integrity who brings to this position extensive clinical experience, as well as academic training which includes a doctorate in nursing practice. She is the ideal choice for the chief nursing officer position."

Reilly brings more than 35 years of clinical and administrative experience to her new role. She earned her RN as a diploma graduate from AMH’s Dixon School of Nursing in Willow Grove, Pa., in 1975. She earned her BSN from Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, Pa., and an MSN from Villanova (Pa.) University. In 2011, Reilly completed her DNP at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia with a focus on improving patient flow.
