The Philadelphia Area Association of Healthcare Recruiters, the local chapter of the National Association for Health Care Recruitment, recently announced Alyse Maiden and Leslie Turner as the recipients of its annual scholarship program.

Maiden is in the Drexel co-op program and currently is at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She expects to graduate in June 2014.

Turner is a patient care tech at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She will begin her nursing program in the fall at Widener University in Chester, Pa. Her anticipated graduation date is June 2015.

According to a news release, the PAAHCR scholarship program was established to help finance healthcare-related education for relatives and friends of PAAHCR members. Applicants must be enrolled in the first or second year of an eligible undergraduate program or enrolled in an eligible accredited technical program related to indirect or direct patient care. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year.
