Nyack wound care facility earns Center of Distinction Award

Nyack (N.Y.) Hospitalís Wound Care Center has received the Center of Distinction Award for 2012, from Healogics, Inc., a provider of advanced wound care services.

According to a news release from the hospital, the center achieved outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including over a 92% patient satisfaction rate, a 91% wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal, and other quality outcomes.

The Wound Care Center at Nyack Hospital will celebrate its 10th anniversary in October. Since 2003, the center has provided specialized treatment for chronic and non-healing wounds to more than 2,690 patients, the release said. It is a member of the Healogics Network of more than 500 centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating more than two million chronic wounds.

Michael E. Rader, MD, medical director at Nyack Hospital, said in the release, "Our Wound Care Center heals chronic wounds of patients who might otherwise experience an amputation or other life-threatening condition. We are proud of the results achieved by our Wound Care Center." •
