American Academy of Nursing names 2013 fellows

Induction to take place Oct. 19 at 40th annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

Nurses from Alaska, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington are among 172 nurses to be inducted as fellows into the American Academy of Nursing Class of 2013 on Oct. 19 during the academy’s 40th annual meeting in Washington, DC.

The AAN conference is scheduled to take place
Oct. 17 through 19 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The conference will showcase the extraordinary work nurses are undertaking to drive policy changes that meet the healthcare needs of individuals and populations, according to a news release.

“Selection for fellowship in the academy is one of the most prestigious honors in the field of nursing,” Joanne Disch, RN, PhD, FAAN, President of AAN, said in a news release. “I congratulate all of the new fellows and look forward to honoring their accomplishments and welcoming them into
the academy.”
