Hunterdon Wound Healing Center collects national recognition

Hunterdon Medical Centerís Wound Healing Center, Flemington, N.J., has been recognized with the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics Inc., a national provider of wound care services.

The Hunterdon center was honored for achieving outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction over 98%, a 91% wound healing rate within 24 median days to heal, among other quality outcomes.

ďWeíre honored,Ē Bruce Kostecka, program director at the center, said in a news release. ďItís a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital, physicians and Healogics. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them back to living happy, healthy lives.Ē

The Hunterdon center specializes in treating chronic wounds and offers hospital-based outpatient wound care as well as disease management and diabetes care. It offers therapies including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the use of vascular studies, tissue culturing and pathology, revascularization, skin grafting, and clinical or surgical debridement.

Hunterdon is a member of the Healogics Network of more than 500 wound care centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and experience treating more than 2 million chronic wounds.
