Peace Oke, RN, the director of nursing at Riderwood retirement community in Silver Spring, Md., earned honors from the Maryland chapter of the National Association Directors of Nursing Administration.

Oke received the 2013 Director of Nursing of the Year Award from the industry group at a breakfast ceremony held on Oct. 17 at Charlestown, an Erickson Living retirement community in Catonsville, Md.

“I am very proud of Peace and her team members who were honored by the Maryland chapter of NADONA,” Lori Hamilton, director of extended care at Riderwood, said in a news release. “They epitomize the best that healthcare professionals in the continuing care retirement industry can be. With their dedication to compassionate care and commitment to training, our residents at Riderwood are well-served on a daily basis.”
