Jennifer Doerr, RN, MSN, CPN, was named manager of the Family Birthing Center and Pediatrics at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Ill.

Doerr, who had served as interim manager of the units since July, will continue to work collaboratively toward improving patient care, patient satisfaction and overall performance within her areas of responsibility.

Doerr came to Advocate South Suburban in 1999 as an RN and has earned leadership responsibility and experience through a progression of positions, including assistant clinical manager of the Family Birthing Center and Pediatrics.

“Jen’s leadership will greatly benefit our Family Birthing Center and Pediatrics units,” Joe Newsome, RN, MSN, director of inpatient care at Advocate South Suburban, said in a news release. “We are confident that she will play a large role as we continue to provide safe, quality care and service for our patients of all ages.”

Doerr received an ADN from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Ill., and completed her BSN from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. She earned her MSN from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
