Permanente Medical Group’s Clinical Program Development managing director Gail Lindsay, RN, MA, co-authored the lead article in the November 2013 issue of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety, according to a news release.

The article, “Complete Care at Kaiser Permanente: Transforming Chronic and Preventive Care,” details the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Complete Care program focus on 26 chronic conditions and areas of preventive and wellness care, which resulted in six-year quality gains that outpaced changes in national percentiles for many measures, according to a news release.

Using evidence-based, person-focused care, KPSC sought to address a large set of protocol-based health needs at the health system’s 13 medical centers and 200 medical office buildings.
