Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, Las Vegas and Henderson, is encouraging employees to take part in The Great Kindness Challenge,
Jan. 27-31, according to a news release. The challenge includes a suggested 50-item act of kindness checklist to be completed by Jan, 31.

Partnership and collaboration

St. Rose is working in partnership with the Josh Stevens Foundation, a Las Vegas-area nonprofit organization that helps schools, businesses and youth organizations across the nation to recognize and celebrate heartfelt acts of kindness. With their help, more than 68 Nevada schools are participating in The Great Kindness Challenge. Participating schools will give the checklist to students and encourage them to complete it by Jan. 31. Students who complete the checklist will receive a gift from the Josh Stevens Foundation.

St. Rose also is collaborating with Kids for Peace, the nonprofit organization that holds the annual Great Kindness Challenge, to inspire students all over the world to take on a lifelong commitment to service and kindness. Its local chapter also will be involved with the activities.

Examples of Acts of Kindness

Some of the 50 Acts of Kindness employees at St. Rose are asked to complete include: Saying ‘Good Morning’ to 15 people; writing a loving note to a family member; taking a hot beverage or treat order from an inpatient’s family member and delivering it to him or her the next day; and reading a favorite story to a pediatric inpatient or the child of a patient during a work break.
