The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, received a $250,000 gift from local philanthropist and business owner Christine E. Lynn, according to a news release.

The gift will support a faculty talent retention fund, which will assist the College of Nursing in retaining the best and brightest faculty.

Due to a critical national nurse faculty shortage, the most talented faculty are being heavily recruited by universities throughout the country. The faculty talent retention fund provides incentives and rewards for special faculty accomplishments. This will benefit College of Nursing students and the community in various ways, and the retention of faculty will continue to have an impact on the quality of nurse care in South Florida and beyond, according to the release.
