Bethesda Health in Boynton Beach, Fla., which include Bethesda Hospital East and Bethesda Hospital West, has earned Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, according to a news release.

In honor of the designation, Bethesda Health hosted a red carpet celebration Jan. 29-30. Nurses and support staff were honored during a pinning ceremony where they walked the red carpet to receive a Pathway to Excellence pin and certificate. Employees also enjoyed a picnic-style luncheon.

Bethesda is the 106th hospital organization in the nation, and the only hospital in Palm Beach County, to receive this award.

“Our community can be very proud of our entire nursing staff and the invaluable contributions they make to ensure that Bethesda can provide quality health services in a caring manner for our patients,” Roger Kirk, president and CEO of Bethesda Health, said in the release.

For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research. Nurses in the organization verify the presence of the criteria through a confidential online survey.
